FAQs
-
Metal is one of the most durable roofing materials available and lends itself to a long lasting roof, especially in Ireland's challenging climate, SCANDION comes with a 40-year corrosion warranty and 20-year colour fastness, ensuring long-term performance and visual appeal.
-
Traditional standing seam roofs, often made from zinc or copper, are typically installed using specialist tools and techniques including mechanical seaming of panels, which can be time-consuming and costly.
SCANDION replicates the premium look of a standing seam but uses a modern click-lock system—one panel is screwed down, and the next panel clicks over it, concealing all fixings. This offers a faster, more straightforward installation while maintaining a clean, architectural finish. -
SCANDION is not suitable for:
Curved walls or roofs
Flat roofs – A minimum roof pitch is required to ensure proper water runoff.
-
For most installations, standard DIY tools such as a cordless drill, tin snips, and a jigsaw will suffice. For more complex roofs, you may benefit from using roofing-specific tools like roofing pliers or small bending (turn-up) tools for detailed work.
-
All SCANDION orders are made to order. Depending on demand and production, dispatch can take a minimum of 2 to 3 weeks from the time of order.
-
SCANDION uses a click-lock standing seam-style system. One edge of the sheet is fixed with screws to the roof deck, while the next sheet clicks over the fixed edge, securely locking into place and concealing the screws. This results in a seamless, fixing-free appearance with excellent weather resistance.
